UK-DRUID Study Update: Recruitment and Analysis Complete
We are pleased to share a positive update on the progress of the UK-DRUID (Distal RadioUlnar joInt Dislocations) study, which set out to identify the true incidence of distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ) dislocations across the UK.
Since the study launched, the response from participating centres has been excellent. Thanks to the enthusiasm and commitment of collaborators nationwide, recruitment is now complete, marking an important milestone for the project. The study has successfully captured a large national dataset that will help clarify how frequently these injuries occur and how they are currently recognised in clinical practice.
We are also delighted to report that data analysis has now been completed. The dataset has provided valuable insights into patterns of injury, diagnosis, and management of DRUJ dislocations, and we believe the findings will make an important contribution to the existing literature.
The team is currently working on manuscript preparation, with submission planned later this year. We are excited to share the results in full once the paper is published, so please watch this space for further updates.
Finally, we would like to thank all collaborators and centres who contributed to the study. The success of UK-DRUID reflects the strength of collaborative research within the UK orthopaedic community, and we are very grateful for the time and effort that everyone has contributed.
More updates will follow soon.
