About DARFI

DARFI, which stands for Database for Atypical and Rare Fractures and Injuries, is a national collaborative platform dedicated to the study of rare and atypical fractures and injuries. This innovative initiative is the brainchild of Professor Lyndon Mason and Mr Abdul-Rahman Gomaa.

DARFI has been carefully designed to support the investigation and understanding of rare and atypical fractures and injuries. It is a retrospective, NHS Research Ethics Committee (REC) approved and HRA registered database study (IRAS ID: 331288), sponsored by Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (R&I ID: LHS0208), and included within the NIHR Research Delivery Network (RDN) Portfolio (CPMS ID: 63957).
